Thank you!
Thank you for your commitment to reducing your energy usage during this critical winter weather event!
Use these simple energy-saving tips to conserve energy and avoid higher than expected energy bills:
- Set your thermostat at a maximum of 68 degrees or lower.
- Don't heat an empty house! When you are gone for the day or away for a long time, set your thermostat to 60 degrees or lower.
- You might like this tip: avoid doing laundry! If you have to, make sure to use only the cold cycle to avoid using hot water.
- Keep your drapes closed to provide an extra layer between you and the freezing weather outside.
- Reverse your ceiling fans to push warm air down from your ceiling to keep you warm.
- Make sure to turn off the lights in any room you aren't using.
- Unplug any appliances or electronics when they aren't in use: microwaves, TVs, computers, phone chargers and similar items can all use power even when they're turned "off".
